Luna Gold Corp. is in the business of exploring, operating and developing gold resource properties in Brazil. Luna Gold's proven management team has extensive experience in all facets of the exploration and mining industry, and is focused on the discovery of new gold deposits and achieving a minimum annual production of 60,000 ounces of gold at the Aurizona Gold mine. Increasing production at Aurizona to 100,000 ounces per year is planned on the completion of a scoping study in Q2 2012. Cachoeira is a growth pipeline project with an initial NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate published in December 2010. Additionally, the Company is aggressively exploring for new gold deposits at its wholly owned Luna Greenfields Project that totals over 190,000 hectares of unexplored granite greenstone terrain.

Luna Gold completed a 44,000 metre drill program in December 2011 which resulted in a significant increase in the size of the Aurizona Project Mineral Resource. Measured and Indicated resources now total 78.0 million tonnes at 1.26 g/t Au or 3.17 million ounces of gold, an increase of 250% from the previous mineral resource estimate published in January 2009. Inferred resources now total 15.2 million tonnes at 1.47 g/t Au or 0.72 million ounces gold, an increase of 79% from the January 2009 mineral resource estimate.

The Cachoeira Project has an Indicated Mineral Resource of 12.5 million tonnes at 1.11 g/t Au or 0.45 million ounces of gold and an Inferred Resource of 5.4 million tonnes at 1.27 g/t Au or 0.22 million ounces of gold.
